Last One Laughing: Halloween starts on Prime Video on October 23, but its finale doesn't arrive until October 30. If you're choosing something to finish over the October 23–25 weekend, that release pattern matters more than the word “special.” You can start it now, but you can't watch the entire competition yet.

This week's guide separates three different commitments: a comedy competition with a wait, a returning drama with its whole new installment available, and a standalone film. The service listings below are verified for U.S. viewers; the wider release explicitly announced for Last One Laughing is noted separately. These are viewing suggestions based on release information and premises, not reviews or claims of advance screenings.

Pick U.S. service Release and availability Best fit for your plan
Last One Laughing: Halloween Prime Video First three episodes October 23; finale October 30 Start now if you don't mind returning next week
Lupin, Part 4 Netflix All eight new episodes released October 23 Continue an existing series at your own pace
Moana, live-action film Disney+ Streaming release October 21 Choose one film rather than an episode schedule

Last One Laughing has a second date to remember

The Halloween edition adds a second way for its comedians to lose: as well as avoiding laughter, they must avoid screaming. Jimmy Carr hosts, with Roisin Conaty as his deputy. That gives you a more specific reason to choose it than simply wanting something seasonal: the entertainment comes from watching performers try to make one another crack while keeping control themselves.

Producer Banijay UK's announcement sets out the split release and a launch in more than 240 countries and territories. Amazon's U.S. October lineup also lists the special, so its UK production shouldn't be mistaken for a UK-only release.

My suggestion is to decide before episode one whether waiting will annoy you. If it will, put October 30 on your watchlist instead of starting because the show is new. If your household enjoys making predictions together, the pause gives you a natural reason to reconvene. Neither approach requires turning the weekend into a race through everything available.

Lupin gives returning viewers the complete installment

All eight episodes of Lupin Part 4 are available from October 23, according to Netflix's release guide. Omar Sy returns as Assane Diop, and the new story takes place four years after Part 3. It's a continuation, not an unrelated crime story sharing the same title.

That makes it the better option here if you're already invested in Assane and want control over when you reach the end of the new batch. “All episodes available” doesn't mean you need to watch them all this weekend. Agree on a stopping point with anyone watching alongside you, especially if one person tends to continue alone.

If you haven't seen the earlier parts, I'd start there rather than treating this week's release date as your entry point. Netflix's linked guide includes prior-story recaps, so avoid scrolling through those if you want to discover the earlier plot for yourself.

Moana avoids the episode-calendar decision

The live-action Moana reached Disney+ on October 21, as confirmed by Disney's streaming announcement. The film's Disney+ listing identifies Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui. Make sure you've selected this live-action version if that's the new release you intended to watch.

Choose it when the group wants a shared film rather than negotiating how many episodes to fit in. Watch the trailer together first: familiarity with the animated story doesn't automatically mean everyone wants a live-action retelling.

Start with the service you already have. Outside the U.S., confirm the title in your local account before subscribing specifically for it. And if your main requirement is seeing Last One Laughing's result in one sitting, save that plan for October 30.
