Spotify renewed The Joe Rogan Experience on October 8 with a new multi-year license, and new episodes stay on Spotify each week and on other platforms. The show has 18 million followers. It has been the most-followed show on Spotify since the partnership began in 2020.
Six years into that partnership, Spotify still calls JRE a defining show with a massive global audience, the world's most popular podcast, and the top podcast across all major platforms in 2025. The shape hasn't changed: wide-ranging, long-form conversations. You don't pay a new price for the renewal, and you don't install a new app to keep listening. The post names no dollar figure and no end date.
"The partnership with Spotify has been an amazing fit, and they're incredible to work with," Rogan said. "I'm extremely happy and excited to continue with them for years to come."
After the exclusive years
From 2020 until 2024, the show was exclusive to Spotify. If you wanted a new episode in those years, that was the only app that had it. That exclusivity ended in 2024, in the same stretch that Spotify let go of its other exclusive deals. You can take a new episode as video or as audio. Watch it, or put the audio on while you're doing something else. Spotify presents both as the way to catch the show, and it doesn't say either format is going away. The show also finished 2025 at the top of the year-end lists on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.
The Joe Rogan Experience debuted in 2009 and now runs past 2,500 episodes. They're long interviews, often running for hours, so the license covers a long catalog, not a format Spotify has to invent. Jordan Newman, Spotify's head of content partnerships, said Spotify's podcast business grew up alongside the show, and that the company wants to keep building on the partnership. The renewal adds no region, no waiting period on a new episode, and no cutoff that pulls older episodes down.
Keep the app you already use. You don't have to move the show to hear the new episodes, and the post doesn't ask you to drop a queue you already built.
