Netflix October leave clock: Halo and Dawson's Creek first

October's Netflix library shuffle is already on the calendar, and the first cuts land before the month is a week old. What's on Netflix says the live-action Halo series leaves Netflix in the United States on October 1, 2026, with a last-day-to-watch notice pointing at September 30. Netflix Life and MovieWeb both put all six seasons of Dawson's Creek on the October 3 exit list. The same reporting also flags Paramount-linked arrivals a few days later, so the story is not only about what disappears.

From Sunday, September 27, that leave clock is short enough to plan around instead of discovering a grayed-out Continue Watching tile next week.

Days left, and how long a finish takes

TitleMoveDateDays from Sep 27Runtime / notes
Halo S1-S2Leaving Netflix USOct 1 (last day Sep 30)~3 days to finish~14.5 hours combined (S1 7:37 + S2 7:02 per What's on Netflix)
Dawson's Creek S1-S6Leaving NetflixOct 3~6 days128 episodes; MovieWeb notes Hulu / Disney+ bundle still carries it
Mayor of Kingstown S1-S4Arriving NetflixOct 5~8 days outParamount+ drama ahead of a final season there
All American S8Arriving NetflixOct 6~9 days outFarewell season, eight days after The CW finale per Netflix Life

Halo math is the urgent one. About 14.5 hours of runtime across both seasons means finishing before the September 30 last-day notice takes roughly 4.8 hours a night if you start tonight and treat three evenings as the window (14.5 ÷ 3). Stretch it across the full three calendar days with daytime watching and the nightly load drops, but the margin is thin if you have not started Season 2. What's on Netflix also published Netflix engagement figures for the title: Season 1 drew about 19.6 million total views across 2025 and early 2026, while Season 2 only reached about 3.7 million. That drop-off is why a last-minute binge of both seasons is ambitious for anyone who bounced after Master Chief's first outing.

Dawson's Creek is a different problem. Six seasons and 128 episodes will not fit in six days for most people. The useful move is the alternative path MovieWeb and Netflix Life both mention: the series remains available on Hulu and Disney+ with a bundle, so an October 3 Netflix exit is a platform swap, not a total blackout.

What fills the hole right after

Netflix Life's October TV list puts Jeremy Renner's Mayor of Kingstown seasons 1-4 on the service October 5, ahead of the fifth and final season on Paramount+. All American season 8 follows October 6. Other October adds on that list include NCIS seasons 20-22 (Oct 1), Blindspotting seasons 1-2 (Oct 20), and Dangerous Liaisons season 1 (Oct 27). Other exits called out alongside Halo and Dawson's Creek include Nurse Jackie (Oct 7) and Poldark (Oct 8).

Halo's path after Netflix is also clearer than a vague "leaving soon" banner. What's on Netflix reports the US window closes after a one-year license that started in October 2025, and that Paramount+ remains the permanent home once Netflix's rights end. International Netflix regions already lost the show earlier in 2026.

Availability still varies by country profile, so open each title on your own Netflix account before you plan a weekend around it. Licensing windows for Paramount catalog titles have been short on Netflix before, which is why What's on Netflix treated Halo's one-year US stint as expected rather than a surprise cancelation. The practical habit is the same either way: if a leaving banner is already on the title page, finish or migrate before the date, and do not assume a last-minute extension.

Geeknewz verdict

If Halo is unfinished on your profile, treat September 30 as the real deadline and either finish Season 1 tonight or accept that Season 2 needs a Paramount+ login after October 1. If Dawson's Creek is the emotional one, move the rewatch to Hulu or a Disney bundle instead of racing 128 episodes. Geeknewz's view: October's Netflix news is a leave clock plus a Paramount handoff, not a reason to refresh the app every hour for surprise originals.
