Firefox’s Smart Window beta can now suggest form answers using information in tabs you select. The important step comes before accepting those suggestions: check which pages you’re sharing. Mozilla says information from the selected pages goes to Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite to help generate the answers.
That is a different path from ordinary saved autofill. If you’re trying the feature for a job application or registration, separate details already saved in Firefox from information the AI helper will extract from another page. Both can appear in a form, but they don’t use the same process.
In its Smart Window update announcement, Mozilla says the additions are available in the opt-in desktop beta, in English in the US and Canada. The form helper currently handles text fields on web forms. Dropdowns and PDF support are possibilities the company is exploring, rather than features to count on now. Smart Window won’t submit the form for you.
Review the sources as well as the answers
The form-filling help guide describes a “Fill from sources” option on supported forms. You can review suggested tabs, deselect them or choose other relevant open pages before generating suggestions. The form helper uses Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite even if you chose a different model for Smart Window’s chat.
Saved autofill details, including addresses and payment information, continue to be inserted from local storage without being sent to an AI model through that process. That statement applies to the saved autofill path; it doesn’t make the AI source-page step local.
For an application, a sensible review is to compare each proposed answer with the exact experience or qualification you intended to describe. Check dates, employer names and responsibilities before submitting. Choosing a relevant source helps, but it doesn’t establish that every generated sentence accurately represents you.
Page watching needs Firefox to stay open
The same update adds daily or weekly checks for changes on selected pages, which run only while the browser is open. The task-management guide allows up to five pages per task and 15 active tasks. These checks use Qwen regardless of the model selected for chat.
A job seeker could watch a handful of careers pages, then use selected profile information when completing an application. Keep those two decisions separate: define the change you want the watcher to find, and review the source tabs afresh when filling a form. Start with one small task and one supported form, then check the results before relying on either feature for a deadline.
